Formation

A meeting was held in the Village Hall in June 2015 with a representative of the Development Trust Association to which all were invited. The representative advised the community to explore what types of projects the community might be interested in, before deciding what form of organisation should be set up.

A community wide consultation took place in December 2015 and a list of potential projects was drawn up. A steering group was formed and at a meeting of Boarhills and Dunino Community Council in August 2016, a mandate was approved for the formation of a Community Trust.

The Trust came into being on 31 August 2017 when its Articles of Association were approved and it became registered by Companies House. BDCT is a Company Limited by Guarantee, company number SC575099.
